Disclaimer on Pricing and Valuation
Pelikan Pelikano Model 2010 / P480
- For the 50th anniversary of the Pelikano the look was completely redesigned for a new model of the pen. The section of the fountain pen is transparent with three soft feel profiles for the fingers. The feed and ink level can clearly be seen. The pen has an extremely robust matte metal cap and is available in both right-handed and left-handed versions. The first three different coloured models of 2010 (pink, blue and light green) saw further colours added in the following years (black, transparent, red and yellow).
Pelikan M710 Toledo Yellow
- Based on the Souveran M700 Toledo launched in 1997, the M710 Toledo Yellow has a body made of yellow resin with the decorative sleeve in the barrel done in Sterling Silver.
Pelikan Classic P200 & P205
- The fountain pen Classic Black has a timeless design with its barrel and cap in polished black. It is made of high-quality resin. The 24 carat gold-plated decorative rings and the characteristic Pelikan beak clip underline its traditional design. The Classic black P20x has a cartridge filling mechanism and is also available with silver fittings (P205) and all versions sport a gold-plated steel nib.
Pelikan M200 "Green-Marbled"
- This is one of the most recognised pen designs by Pelikan - the barrel and cap are made of high-quality resin in black and green. The anthracite ink viewing window is a classical feature just like the 24-carat gold-plated, decorative rings. The cap with the characteristic Pelikan beak clip, the Pelikan logo crowning the top of the cap, and the typical classical shape all harmonise together and give this writing instrument the distinctive Pelikan design. The polished high-quality gold-plated stainless steel nib is available in several different nib-sizes.
Pelikan Souveran M805 "Stresemann"
- The "Stresemann" design from Pelikan derives its name from the famous suit made popular by the former foreign minister Gustav Stresemann back in the 1920s. To honour this legacy, Pelikan launched the M805 fountain pen in high-quality black resin with the barrel made of cellulose acetate with anthracite stripes, using a traditional process that‘s extremely work-intensive. The clip and the rings are plated with palladium. The gold nib is completely rhodinized to obtain a silver sheen.
Pelikan Classic 205 "Blue-Marbled"
- The series M205 Blue-Marbled is back and brighter than before. An intense colour of bright blue has the familiar swirl of the well-known Green-Marbled version. It shows a fascinating mix of different shades of blue, that gives the product a certain depth. In combination with the silver rings and trimmings, the appearance complements the marbled Elegance series. The series M205 is offered as a fountain pen with differential piston mechanism.
Pelikan Souveran 405 "Stresemann"
- Similar in design to the M805 launched the previous year, Pelikan launched the size M400 fountain pen with the same style and trimming.
Pelikan Souveran 800 "Blue o'Blue"
- As a Special Edition, Pelikan launched the popular model 800 of the Souverän series in August 2010 in a new material called blue o‘ blue. The o‘ is short for ‚over‘ because the barrel looks as if several broad strokes of blue in different shades are put one over another. Both barrel and cap are made of this slightly translucent material. The technical production process goes through several steps. First, the acrylic material is cast into thick slabs, then cut into rectangular pieces. These pieces are next turned into a round shape and hollowed. Then the ready blue o’blue sleeves are put into a mould where the filling reservoir (or inner material of the cap) is added. In the last step, the final pieces are cut into their spherical shape and polished to a bright sheen.
Pelikan Souveran M101N "Tortoise-shell Brown"
- In 1937, Pelikan launched the first M101N with a global campaign and much success. From the six models in the series which became available throughout the years, the version in tortoiseshell brown was one of the most sought-after vintage pens. At the time, it was only sold outside Germany. As the shape and colouring still appeal to many collectors and lovers of vintage products today, Pelikan introduced a Special Edition that takes up the main characteristics of the M101N tortoiseshell brown. The tortoiseshell sleeve and cap that used to be of celluloid is now made of cellulose acetate. The nib is still 14-carat gold, and the size is smaller than today‘s fountain pens, just like it was back in 1937. The dark brown pieces are made of high-quality resin, and the clip, as well as the rings, are 24-carat gold-plated.
Pelikan Souveran 600 "Green o'Green"
- Just as with the "Blue o' Blue" M800 launched the previous year, Pelikan launched a Special Edition of the popular model 600 of the Souverän series in a new material called green o’ green. The o’ is short for ‚over’ because the material looks as if several broad strokes of green in different shades are put one over another. Both barrel and cap are made of this slightly translucent material. The clip and the rings are 24-carat gold-plated.
Pelikan M710 & M910 Toledo "Black-Silver"
- Following the introduction of the Toledo in various colours (Red and Yellow), Pelikan launched a Black resin version of the M710 in 2011 and the larger sized M910 in the following year. As with the other coloured models, the Toledo sleeve work is in Sterling Silver.
Pelikan Souveran M1005 "Demonstrator"
- When Pelikan registered the patent for the differential piston mechanism in 1929, nobody knew that the same technique would survive for decades ... But to this day, only a few small changes have perfected the piston mechanism, and the Demonstrator model, which was first introduced in a smaller size just to show how it works, became a global success. So Pelikan decided to launch this Special Edition, the Demonstrator in the size 1005 in the year 2011. The M1005 is the largest piston fountain pen of Pelikan and has a bigger capacity than any other piston fountain pen on the market. The nib is made of 18-carat gold, completely rhodinized to achieve a silver impression. The clip and the rings are palladium plated.
Pelikan Souveran M101N "Lizard"
- The Pelikan M101N Lizard is based on a historical model that dates back to 1937. While it keeps the traditional shape that is so essential for a Pelikan fountain pen, it has been adapted to today‘s modern standard. The patterned barrel and the cap of this fountain pen are made of cellulose acetate with a completely smooth surface. High quality resin was used for the black pieces, and the Pelikan logo is engraved in the traditional manner at the top of the cap. The precious metal palladium covers the clip and rings, and the 14-carat gold nib was completely rhodinized to obtain a corresponding silver effect.
Pelikan Souveran 600 "Ruby Red"
- The fountain pen is based on the Souveran M600 and made in the same resin as the Special Edition M320 launched in 2010.
Pelikan Souveran 600 "White & Tortoise-shell"
- The fountain pen is based on the Souveran M600 and made in the same design as the M400 Tortoise-shell White launched in 2004.
Pelikan Souveran 605 "Marine Blue"
- This special edition of the Pelikan Souverän 605 has the typical Pelikan characteristics: The barrel and cap are made of high-quality translucent blue resin and the clip and rings are palladium-plated. The fountain pen has a completely rhodanized 14-carat gold nib.
Pelikan Souveran 800 "Tortoise-shell Brown"
- The much coveted model Souverän M800 tortoiseshell brown was made available again for a limited time. The striped barrel with subtle orange highlights is made of cellulose acetate, and high quality resin was used for the dark-brown, finely turned pieces. The clip and the rings are 24-carat gold-plated with an 18-carat dual-tone gold nib.
Pelikan Souveran M1005 "Black"
- The largest fountain pen of Pelikan has a length of 14,7cm (with closed cap) and is available with silver trimmings for a limited time only. The barrel and cap are both made of high-quality resin in shiny black, while the clip and the rings are palladium plated to get the silver sheen. The 18-carat gold nib has been completely covered with rhodium to make this classical fountain pen sleek and modern up to the very tip.
Pelikan Classic 200 "Cognac"
- This piston fountain pen, based on the popular Classic M200 range, is made of high-quality resin in a fascinating translucent cognac colour, with gold plated rings and the special gold plated Pelikan clip. The nib is made of stainless steel and also gold plated.
Pelikan M101N "Tortoise-shell Red"
- Following the successful models M101N Tortoise-shell brown and M101N lizard, Pelikan launched the third variation in the historical series: the M101N Tortoise-shell red. The barrel is made of the typical Pelikan cellulose acetate in a very unique pattern. The nib was a 14-carat gold of the same design has the original model.
Pelikan Souveran 600 "Vibrant Green"
- Pelikan launched another Special Edition in a vibrant green colour based on the classic shape of the Souveran M600. The series M600 vibrant green has the typical Pelikan characteristics: the barrel and cap are made of high-quality resin that is first turned and then polished to a high sheen. The differing patterns make each piece unique. The clip and rings are plated with 24-carat gold. The fountain pen has a 14-carat gold nib with rhodium trim.
Pelikan Classic 200 "Café-Crème"
- The beautiful colouring of a latte macchiato drink inspired Pelikan to create this fountain pen. The series 200 Café Crème was available as a fountain pen and ballpoint pen for a limited time. The stainless steel nib of the fountain pen M200 Café-Crème and the decorative elements are gold-plated. Both the dark-brown pieces as well as the creamy coloured barrel are made of polished high-quality resin.
Pelikan Classic 205 "Amethyst"
- For the first time ever, Pelikan launched a Special Edition pen that matches the colour of Pelikan's Edelstein Ink of the year. The beautiful colour Amethyst is an intensive lilac shade combined with a semi-transparent frosted effect. This especially developed material combination gives the colour an amazing depth, allowing for a glimpse into the inner mechanism. The series 205 is available as fountain pen and ball pen with a shiny silver-coloured clip and rings. The fountain pen sports a polished stainless steel nib.
Pelikan Souveran 600 "Pink"
- The Souveran 600 "Pink" has all the typical Pelikan characteristics. The white parts are made of high-quality resin that is first turned and then polished to a high sheen. For the typical stripes in the non-typical colour, cellulose acetate was carefully manufactured and turned into a sleeve. The clip and all rings are plated with 24-carat gold. The fountain pen has a 14-carat dual-tone gold nib with rhodium trim.
Pelikan Souveran 800 "Burnt Orange"
- The warm orange hue which was used for this pen is perfectly complemented by the dark-brown components. Both the barrel as well as the cap of the series M800 burnt orange are made of high-quality resin which is first turned and then polished to a high sheen. For extra soft writing, the fountain pen M800 burnt orange was equipped with an 18-carat dual-tone gold nib.
Pelikan Souveran 805 "Vibrant Blue"
- The vibrant blue acrylic material which was used for this new series had to undergo several production steps until it looked as varied and interesting as it is. The rings and the clip are palladium plated, and the 18 carat gold nib is completely covered by rhodium in order to obtain the silver sheen.
Pelikan Souveran M805 "Demonstrator"
- The Demonstrator as a completely transparent product was first launched to show how the piston mechanism works and soon became a huge success. After the last launch of the M800 Demonstrator in 2008, Pelikan launched this unusual product as a Special Edition in the 805 design, i.e. with palladium plated trimmings. To harmonise the optical appearance, the 18-carat gold nib is entirely covered by rhodium.
Pelikan M120 "Green Black"
- The first Pelikan model M120 was launched in 1955. For the re-launch, Pelikan has kept the traditional shape and the original material of the nib: gold-plated stainless steel. However, for comfort, these elements were combined with proven Pelikan piston fountain pen technology . . . and for a special something, Pelikan added an engraving on the nib that re-interprets a curlicue found in a Pelikan price-list of 1889. The material of the barrel and cap is high-quality resin, and the clips and rings are gold plated.
Pelikan Classic M205 "Demonstrator Transparent Blue"
- Pelikan aficionados will recognise this Special Edition as one of the most popular models that was launched five years ago. As it was so much in demand, Pelikan decided to do a re-launch for a limited period of time, with just one change: the ring at the top of the cap will be chromium plated, just like the clip and the rings (in the past model, it was black). However, the high-quality resin in the beautiful transparent blue will remain the same.
Pelikan Classic 205 "Aquamarine"
- Another Edelstein® Ink of the Year inspired Pelikan to create again a matching special edition in this fascinating Aquamarine translucent colour. A mix of deep Blue-Green, creates summer feeling of beach, ocean and never ending sky. Pelikan has developed an extraordinary material composition. It gives the colour a certain depth and smooth intensity, and still allows a glimpse into the inner parts.
Pelikan Souveran 400 "Tortoise-shell Brown"
- The much coveted model Souveran Tortoiseshell-Brown in size 400 was made available again for a limited time. The nib of the fountain pen M200 is made of gold-plated stainless steel.
Pelikan M101N "Bright Red"
- With the special edition M101N Bright Red, Pelikan presents a small new masterpiece of elegance. It is the continuance of the successful models M101N Tortoise-shell Brown, M101N Lizard and M101N Tortoise-shell Red, which hold a special place in the historical model range. The vibrant red barrel and cap sleeve are made from high-quality acrylic with a distinctive marbled pattern. The quality synthetic resin of the cap head and the filling handle polishes itself as it is used – meaning that Bright Red always continues to shine. The elegant marbling is in perfect harmony with the 24-carat gold plated fittings with four variations of the 14-carat gold nib available.
Pelikan Souveran 605 "White Transparent"
- Based on the standard M600 body, the Special Edition White Transparent is made of cellulose acetate, using a traditional process that is extremely work-intensive. For the white, finely turned parts, a high-grade resin was used. The clip and rings are refined with a palladium coating and the completely rhodinized 14-carat gold nib matches the silver sheen of the other components.
Pelikan Souveran 800 "Renaissance Brown"
- This special edition was designed with a completely new color combination: extraordinary, pearl-like ribbons of colour in the brown acrylic material reveal fine nuances of light and shadow. This aesthetically pleasing juxtaposition symbolizes a typical characteristic of Renaissance painting, making it a homage to the masterpieces painted by the period’s greatest artists. The rings and clip are elegantly decorated with 24-carat gold. The two-tone, 18-carat gold nib is optionally available in nib sizes EF, F, M and B.
Pelikan Souveran 805 "Ocean Swirl"

Exposure to light further enhances and adds sparkle and depth which vary in intensity. Just like in the deep sea, bright spots alternate with dark spots mimicking the light that radiates and is found in the ocean. Each writing Instrument is truly unique. The rings and the clip are palladium plated, and the 18 carat gold nib is completely covered by rhodium in order to obtain the silver sheen.

As with most Pelikan pens a variety of nib widths are offered to match your preferred line width and writing style preference.
Pelikan Souverän 800 "Stone Garden"
- Stone gardens are known for their calming effect. The new special edition Souverän® 800 Stone Garden picks up this atmosphere and though offers a calming influence in the everyday hassle. The combination of opaque dark blue and the sophisticated marbled structure with blue and brown colours give a noble and elegant look to this series. The barrel of the fountain pen and the upper part of the ballpoint pen are made from cellulose-acetate. The dark blue cap and the front part of the ballpoint pen consist of high quality resin material. All rings and the clip are elegantly decorated with 24-carat gold.
Pelikan Souverän 600 "Vibrant Orange"
- This new and colourful series reflects the beautiful colour transition as seen in autumn. The bright acrylic material used for this series had to undergo several production steps to more accurately capture and re-create the range of bright foliage colours. The interesting colour nuances from light-transparent to intense orange characterize this series and make the writing instruments nearly gleam. The shiny gold rings and the 14-carat gold nib are also partly covered with rhodium which harmonizes and further enhances the warm colour shades of this series.
Pelikan Souverän 1005 Stresemann
- Besides his impressive political career, the foreign minister of the German Weimar Republic, Gustav Stresemann (1879-1929), also became famous for the creation of a new kind of suit. The classical Stresemann suit consists of black/grey striped trousers and a single row jacket in black or anthracite. The Souverän® of Pelikan is popularly known as „Stresemann“, that is why Pelikan named the Souverän® black-anthracite after Gustav Stresemann. After a successful market introduction of Souverän® series 405 and 805 Stresemann, Pelikan follows this success by launching the most exclusive model of the Souverän® line, the M1005 Stresemann. The elegant piston fountain pen is equipped with a 18-carat gold nib which is completely covered by rhodium to obtain a silver sheen. The barrel with the deceptively simple anthracite stripes is made of cellulose acetate, using a traditional process that is extremely work-intensive but gives this series its elegant character.
Pelikan M101N "Grey Blue"
- The technical base of this fountain pen is the model M101N. The chosen color pattern in grey and blue reminds of a historical model of the 1930s. The barrel is made of the typical Pelikan cellulose acetate in a very unique pattern. Cap, front part and turning knob are made of high-quality resin that polishes itself time and again during use. The typical Pelikan beak clip and the decorative rings are plated with palladium. Together with the fully rhodanized 14 carat gold nib it gives this special edition an elegant silvery appearance.
The prices given here are the low and high average found on the international market between the years 2014 and 2017. The difference between the lowest and the highest values can be due to such factors as the state of preservation, the provenience, the reputation of the seller, and the completeness of the offer (original case, documentation, ink accessories, etc.). Every collector should be fully aware of the difference between selling prices and purchase prices, and between passion and investment.
