- The Legend Xuan Wu is the fourth pen in the Asia Limited Edition with a worldwide edition of only 888 pieces. According to Chinese mythology, there are four auspicious celestial animals: dragon, bird, tiger and turtle. As highly revered deities they are also the zodiac signs for the four cardinal directions. Xuan Wu is the deity of the northern sphere, the element of water, resembling a mythical creature which is part snake and part turtle.The fountain pen was done in green marbled resin with a Toledo-style sleeve of solid 24 carat gold-plated 925 sterling silver.
Pelikan Souveran M800 "Daedalus-Icarus" Limited Edition of 800 pieces
- This Limited Edition fountain pen was dedicated to the myth of Daedalus and Icarus. Art and technology are connected inextricably with this pen, as they were with the myth of Daedalus in ancient Greece. The body of the pen is done in a blueish transparent resin with the Icarus emblem made of solid 925 sterling silver, with a nickel silver clip and a hand inscribed nib of 18-carat gold. The 800 pieces of this Limited Edition is a direct reference to the 8th century BC, when Homer was the first writer to mention the name of Daedalus.

- The Pelikan's Kirin is the 5th edition of the Pelikan Asia Editions. The Kirin is described as a mythical animal with a dragon head, the snout of a pig, the horns of a deer, the back of a tiger, the waist of a bear, and with its body covered in scales, exuding an aura of mysticism with the power to ward off evil. The pen has a yellow resin body with the "Toledo-like" sleeve illustrating in stylized format this mystical creature.
Pelikan Souveran M800 "Charlotte" & M1000 "Marguerite" Limited Editions of 500 pieces each
- The Marguerite and Charlotte pens were the fruit of cooperation between Classic Pens, Pelikan and Murelli. The basis for the Marguerite is the M1000 and for the Charlotte the M800. The caps and barrels of the pens are completely covered in sterling silver, a first for the two Souveran pen models, and adorned with gold-plated trim. A hand engraver machine dating from 1927 was reactivated and on it, Marc Murelli, crafted the guilloche pattern for these pens completely by hand - each pen in the series is a little different from the rest and unique.

- To mark the 2004 Olympic Games, two unique fountain pens were created. One was the "Athens" in the M620 Cities series, and the other was the "Hercules". - With the edition "Calculation of Times", Pelikan is commemorating this important achievement for the history of mankind. The four phases of the moon which can be seen, new moon, first quarter moon, full moon and last quarter moon, are embossed on the cap of the fountain pen in high relief. - The third fountain pen in the series "Achievements of Civilisation" celebrates the art of taming fire. The most important motif is the bowl filled with fire. History tells us that in former times, our ancestors had to wait for lightning to strike before they could 'catch' the flames. They filled skulls with oil in order to preserve the special flames that gave warmth, kept wild beasts at bay, and helped to prepare food. Today, fire is just a match away, but to celebrate this achievement of civilisation, the bowl of fire is depicted in the clip, the specially created nib, and the cap. The barrel is made of brass and lacquered several times in a vivid red. Every flame on the barrel is first lasered, then plated with 24-carat gold. Five real Topaz gem-stones make the sparks come alive. The nib is made of 18-carat gold and has an iridium grain at the tip.

Pelikan "The Statue of Zeus" - 7 Wonders of the World - Limited Edition of 300 pieces
- Just 20 years after the Temple of Zeus was finished in Olympia, the monument “The Statue of Zeus” was erected inside it. The Greek sculptor Phidias created the 13-meter high colossal statue between 438 and 430 BC. It was his last work and secured him high esteem as one of the most significant sculptors of ancient times. The statue of the most powerful Olympic god of Greek mythology, which is some seven times larger than human size, went on to impress visitors for centuries. The sublime effect of the world wonder was not only attributable to its size but also to the many fine materials used in it.Inspired by ancient architecture, the Limited Edition piston fountain pen has been made with care and extreme attention to detail. Pelikan has used valuable 18-carat rose gold for the embellishments. Using painstaking artistic processing, the motif of Zeus has been worked into the barrel in 925 sterling silver, and finally, all decorative elements have been plated with 18-carat gold in an electroplating bath. To finish, the motif and decorative elements had a clear varnish applied in order for the background to be coloured with anthracite tones. To create a gentle transition to the rose gold and emulate the ivory of the statue, Pelikan used resin in a creamy white colour for the grip section, filling handle section and lid.

Pelikan "Herzstück 1929" - 90th Anniversary Edition - Limited Edition of 462 pieces
- With much love of detail, the “Herzstück 1929” pays tribute to the original from the 1920s: The transparent window, the curved Pelikan beak-like clip, the cap with the historic Pelikan logo, and the form and detail of the grip are reminiscent of the revolutionary Pelikan fountain pen.
In a shimmering climate of awakening, the engineer Theodor Kovács develops a ground-breaking fountain pen with a differential piston mechanism that resolves the disadvantages of the writing implements that existed at the time. Pelikan’s owner Fritz Beindorff recognizes the significance of the invention, and purchases the patent in 1927. Patent registration follows in Germany in 1928, and just one year later the first Pelikan fountain pen with patented piston mechanism goes into series production.
The small turn with the revolutionary impact: The innovative technology with two differing thread leads inside the fountain pen ensures that the shaft turns faster than the grip of the pen. The writing implement can hold a high volume of ink, can be filled more easily and produces no ink blots. The advantages over tube fountain pens that dominated the market previously make it easier for travellers to use the pen.
The highlight of the Commemorative device is the large viewing window that spans the length of the barrel of the pen. It’s a fascinating design that not only offers a view of the level of ink – as was the case initially with the historic Pelikan fountain pen – but also of the piston itself. Thus, as the ink is drawn into the pen, it’s possible to see the way the piston mechanism works. The piston is gold-plated and marked with the historic patent number.Kept entirely in black and gold, the pen appears particularly exclusive. And the same can be said of its materials: Gilded brass and the 18-carat-gold nib ensure that the “Herzstück 1929” shines. The black high-grade resin – the so-called platinum of plastics – is polished with natural diamonds and exerts a self-polishing effect with use. Extreme gloss and the utmost surface hardness characterize the material.
In honour of the original, the limited edition is based on the historic patent number, for which the last three figures were 462. The complete patent number is engraved on the gilded piston, while the individual edition number – here number 008 – of the total of 462 pieces worldwide adorns the grip ring of each pen.
The prices given here are the low and high average found on the international market between the years 2014 and 2017. The difference between the lowest and the highest values can be due to such factors as the state of preservation, the provenience, the reputation of the seller, and the completeness of the offer (original case, documentation, ink accessories, etc.). Every collector should be fully aware of the difference between selling prices and purchase prices, and between passion and investment.
